Helping Teachers & Administrators share ideas and collaborate towards the success of their classrooms.

Hi, I’m Ed. A product designer at Teachers Pay Teachers or TpT, as we call it. We are a community of millions of educators who come together to share their work, their insights, and their inspiration with one another. We are the first and largest open marketplace where teachers share, sell, and buy original educational resources. Our community brings immediate access to a world of expertise and offers educators more time to focus on students and teaching. The New York Times called the phenomenon we lead
"A Sharing Economy Where Teachers Win”

How did I get here?

Throughout my career, I have had the chance to help entrepreneurs succeed, gave families the comfort of security, turned brands into publishers & helped gamers play from anywhere. In 2016, I decided to join the forefront of education by giving teachers the tools they need to become exceptional at doing what they do best.

What I’ve done so far at TpT

Launched a Pilot Program for Schools
Made a Design System, and Rapid Prototyping Framework
Bridged the relationship between Teachers and Administrators
Eliminated the gap between Designers & Engineers

When I first started teaching in the late 1990s, blogs, global professional networks, and outlets for easily sharing resources didn't really exist.

When TpT came along, and other teachers and students shared feedback that the resources I'd been creating and using in my own classroom were beneficial in THEIR classrooms too, it was both affirming and rewarding to me!

To know I'm having an impact in classrooms full of students and teachers I may never meet is humbling and energizing. Together we're better!

Our approach to problem solving starts like this:

We put teachers at the ❀ of everything we do

We bring in educators from all over the country into our war rooms. They tell us their problems, we listen, we synthesize, we adjust, we serve and we listen some more.

We collect insight from everyone. Data Science, Engineering, Community, Product Management, Accounts, and of course, our educators.

We test and learn our way into the future. We run Design Sprints to brainstorm and test our ideas. Then we do it again, and again until we validate our assumptions.

We use Playground, our design system, to help us design and prototype.

We follow an atomic design approach to help us think modularly in our component-first world.

We analyze. Data flows not just throughout our marketplace, but it’s a core driver for our entire company. We measure, we learn and we iterate.

SAY HELLO!

Also, we’re hiring. Come join the most passionate and supportive
cast in all of education and technology.
